On Wednesday I am headed off to the Global Greens Conference in Dakar, Senegal.

While there, I am representing the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand, the youth wing of the Greens — the Young Greens — and you, if you’re a green-minded New Zealander. Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei and Green MP Kennedy Graham will also be representing New Zealand at the conference.

In light of the investigation recently announced into the external acquisition of the private emails of Don Brash, Mount Albert candidate Jackson James Wood has been advised by his law firm Simpson, Simpson & Gregory to reiterate that he did not personally steal the emails, was not in parliament at the time, and most certainly did not climb in through Brash’s window dressed all in black, scuttle like a crab under a web of laser tripwires, abseil Mission Impossible style down into the Brash-cave, upload all Brash’s emails to a flash drive, and distribute them willy-nilly all over town whilst laughing maniacally.

Bringing Saddleback

This was my final video about the Tieke/Saddleback for Forest and Bird’s Bird of the Year competition 2011. For some reason the aspect of the video fucked up and while it was rendering chewed up the original footage. I was also in a rush to get it out the door. Looks good though.

Tieke return to Tawharanui

Awesome news from the Tawharanui Open Sanctuary Society. I hope they invite me to release one of the Tieke. I would LOVE that beyond all belief.

Tieke (saddlebacks) are being welcomed back to the Auckland mainland for the first time in more than 150 years. Ninety of these rare and endangered birds are being released into the open sanctuary at Tawharanui Regional Park during the next month.
